The Binnenrotte market plays a major role in me and my boyfriend’s ideal free-Saturday routine. Unfortunately it is way too often that we are both too busy and that I have to miss my favourite part of the weekend, and that we have to do our shopping at the supermarket instead of the real market.
Anyway, if we are so lucky to both have a free Saturday we usually start the day with a coffee somewhere, followed by a stroll across the market. This stroll takes quite some time as the market is big, especially on a Saturday. Not only will you find loads of fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese, meat and fish, there are also a lot of stalls selling antiques and other vintage goods. It takes quite an amount of patience and a keen eye, but there are some nice things to be found!
Once you’ve finished your stroll, you might as well walk on through to the Markthal to continue food shopping, or maybe even better: take a seat at Bokaal or Sunset Cafe and enjoy a well deserved drink.
