Harvest Coffee Brewers is situated roughly between Leuvehaven and one of Rotterdam’s most popular attractions: the impressive Markthal, a few minutes away from lovely Vessel11. Despite this very central and otherwise busy location, the area around Harvest is very quiet, and walking towards Glashaven I was very surprised to find such a nice spot, sort of in ‘the middle of nowhere’.
Harvest is owned by Zjevaun and Loes. The couple met while working together in a high-end restaurant in Rotterdam, worked in Australia together and decided to bring together their shared passion for coffee, high-quality products and good service in their own business. This worked out perfectly. As soon as you come in you immediately notice the great amount of attention that has been paid to everything. The interior is minimalistic but intimate, the big windows offer a great view, the atmosphere and vibe are super welcoming and the service is really friendly and personal, even on busy weekend days.
But the menu is all good too, with a great choice of specialty coffees and mouthwatering ‘brunchy’ dishes, sweet and savory. Some classics (eggs Benedict) and some with a twist (avocado, egg, feta and citrus), but all equally tasty. Their sweets come from Bas Bakt, another one of my favorites (I often dream about their almond croissant, just saying…).
I’m super happy with Harvest Coffee Brewers, it is just what Rotterdam needed!
