Kopi Soesoe has a deeper meaning than just the name of the bar. Translated from Indonesian to English it means a cup of coffee with milk, not just a regular cup though. According to the recipe it’s a cup of coffee with condensed milk and a sniff of cardamom seed in it. I must say, a tasty combination. But the bar Kopi Soesoe is way more than just a coffee bar where you can order a cup of black gold. The owners tend to translate Kopi Soesoe as a ‘mix of’. In this case a mix of coffee and music.
The bar is a small and cosy place to get some coffee, lunch and (mostly) sweet snacks. Next to that you can order different kinds of beer and a few cocktails, depending on your mood and the time of the day. It is located in the corner of the Deli Plein, a square already filled with excellent spots like ‘The Fenix Food Factory’ (check article: Fenix Food Factory) and the ‘Posse espresso bar’ (check article: Posse espresso bar). Kopi Soesoe is also a lovely spot to enjoy different kinds of live music (alternative), a pub quiz and other entertainment. It’s a place created to meet new people and have a good time.
Get yourself a bike and put on a warm jacket. Warm coffee is waiting for you at the other side of the Erasmusbridge.
