Picknick is situated on the Mariniersweg, a busy street where I cycle every day on my way to work. I didn’t expect to find anything overly exciting here until I spotted Picknick which turned out to be a great spot for breakfast and lunch.
There are a couple of tables in the front of the shop, in the morning this is the place to enjoy your coffee and some early morning sunshine. When you walk through the shop (which looks like it used to be a garage) at the back you will find a nice terrace, which is an even better place to sit, as you are not bothered by the busy traffic here.
The menu is full of delicious things: all seasonal, locally and organically produced. The acai bowl is super tasty and comes with lots of homemade granola. Another recommendation would be the breakfast platter which contains: bread, ham, cheese, a boiled egg, orange juice and a homemade scone with jam and clotted cream.
Picknick is unfortunately only open during the day; if you want to go somewhere similar for dinner and/or drinks I would suggest you go to the Aloha bar (check the article ‘Aloha Bar – Blue, green and great views’) , also a great hot-spot, owned by the same owner and only a couple hundred meters away.
