We have a G R E A T open air cinema with a nice blend of commercial and art house movies starting the 2nd week of August.
Scheduled these weeks are i.e. The Shape of Water, Call me by your name, The Rider and the classic Back to the Future. There will also be a short film prior to every movie.
The location is the Museumpark next to Boijmans van Beuningen with plenty of space to bring your own chair or (inflatable) couch, plus chairs you can rent there for €1. Several shops and cafés also hand out stickers for a free chair!
You’re allowed to bring your own drinks and food but there are plenty of stalls with beverages and food.
Planning to see most of the movies? Get a carnet in advance for €40, which you can share with one person or use it for 10 movies. There’s an extra surcharge of €1 when you book online but tickets are available too at the venue itself.
Make sure to come on time to avoid the queue.
Got a Cineville pass? Then entrance is for free, but show your pass at the cashiers first.
There’s also a special programme for kids on Wed., Sat. and Sunday afternoons. Watch a movie (Dutch spoken) indoors with(out) the parents, it starts at 11am or at 2pm.
This is a great event to visit and meet up with friends when the weather is dry and warm but I have been there in the pouring rain as well :-).
