Once upon a time, in USSR times… there was an idea to set up a palm garden in cold and windy Leningrad.
Some palm trees were gathered, the pond was created and… many years later, the trees had grown so much bigger, but still there is some scent of Leningrad feeling, even though it’s a fancy chocolate bar now.
If you find yourself too far away from the city center (where the Glasshouse is situated) on Petrogradskaya side — try this Secret Garden instead. Here, one can find ice cream and lots of desserts, also breakfast sets, salads, pressed juice or coffee and tea.
Take a picture with the palm tree — and breathe like you’re on a tropical vacation. It’s quite a unique experience. Also, if you chat with the staff, they would tell you more about the history and details of the spot.
Tip: if you are a hardcore alternative-coffee-junkie, head to Verle afterwards.
