The Open-air forest ice rink in Okhta-park skiing resort in the north of St. Petersburg is a very special place. There are several forest paths with an overall length of 1.5 km among the pines. In the evening the lights turn on and the Forest Ice Rink becomes a real lighting performance – a world of colours and magic.
You can choose to skate along the lonely path or in the centre with the other sportsmen. You can have a nice break for a mulled wine, tea or coffee or even some snacks at the cafe, directly at the ice rink. The skates can be rented at the rink.
If you are done with skating, you can continue with the downhill or cross-country skiing as well as tubing and end up with the open-air swimming after a hot Finnish sauna. I normally try to rent a night at the hotel there or at the cottages around if with the friends to enjoy a couple of days at the resort. It will take you around 30 min to get there with marshrutka К680 from underground station “Devyatkino”.
