This spot is not new, but it’s not touristy, either. First, it’s situated on the 4th floor on the cool Belinskogo street in Saint Petersburg. All the other bars and restaurants have doors on the ground floor, therefore, they are flooded with lots of accidental visitors. But Jiva Burgers caters only for those who decided to go up the stairs (or in the elevator).
Second, the venue is a little bit religious. Jiva’s VK page is alternatively named “hare krishna cafe”. You can eat there if you are not a follower, sure thing! But there’s that.
Veg food is important here because of Vaishnavism. “We cook Prasad and do spiritual practice”, they say.
You can come and eat awesome burgers, no matter your religion, no one will ask questions about it. You just must be okay with Jiva’s owners being Vaishnavists.
You can pick and choose burger buns, cutlet, fillings – you can even get a roll in “chapati” Indian bread instead of a burger!
There are also two other Jiva veg spots in the city, you can find them on their Instagram profile.
