I noticed Julia Child bistro a long time ago, but ended up going there accidentally. Locals joke that breakfast in cafes in St. Petersburg should be served all day. Because creative people can certainly have breakfast at 6 pm. If you are an early bird and want to have breakfast on weekends around 8-9 am (not in your hotel) – be prepared for difficulties.
Once, my friend and I were looking for a place near her hostel where we could have a hearty breakfast. We didn’t expect this to be a problem! Only bakeries are open early in the morning on weekends, but the pies could not satisfy our appetites.
Already by 9:50 we were standing at the door of the bistro, which usually opens at 10. We were lucky that one of the waitresses opened the café earlier because she saw our frozen silhouettes. The bistro turned out to be quite small–only 2 rooms. After 15 min, both rooms were already crowded. We realized that it wasn’t just us who loved a hearty breakfast in the morning!
The taste of the food was quite simple. It offered for breakfast: scrambled eggs, cereal, sandwiches, granola & pastries, but I was particularly pleased with the delicious cappuccino.
Julia Child bistro is decorated in a retro ’60s style. It’s nice to spend time here. I bet you would like to take a couple of selfies with the background of their bar counter. Breakfast is served until 14:00; after that they serve main dishes and snacks. Also, there’s business lunch on weekdays.
