Allegro Romano, owned by chef Lorenzo Logoreci from Rome, is one of those neighborhood restaurants that I I don’t want to tell anyone else about for fear of it becoming difficult for us to get into but at the same time, I can’t keep this spot to myself because I love it so much and I want everyone to know about it! Located in Russian Hill, it is surrounded by a residential neighborhood away from busy tourist spots.
Four things really stand out for me at Allegro Romano: the delectable taste of the food, Lorenzo’s brightly-colored shirts (and often pants too), the friendliness of the staff and the rose-petal-topped tables. Plus, after dining at his restaurant, Lorenzo gives a rose to guests as they’re leaving; another special touch! Oh, and Lorenzo is one of the most welcoming hosts you’ll meet! I guess that’s more like 6 things…
One wall of the restaurant is adorned with photos of chef/owner Lorenzo with countless celebrities – check out their Facebook page to see who I’m talking about. I’m not sure how these local and worldwide-known people discover Allegro Romano in the first place but it’s one testament to the kind of experience I have and, you WILL have at Allegro Romano!
Vi divertiate! (Have a good time!)
