Arsicault Bakery is a fairly new French bakery in San Francisco’s Inner Richmond district but it has already been named the best new bakery in America in 2016 so you have to go!
My cousins love croissants just as much as I do and we like to go to Arsicault together and keep each other company in line. And there will definitely be a line as word has gone out just how good the croissants are but you won’t have to wait that long. The menu is very simple as there are only seven items: the five different croissant flavors are chocolate, almond, chocolate-almond, ham and cheese, and plain and two additional items are morning buns and kouign amanns.
I like that this Arsicault focuses on just a few items and does them extremely well. I ordered one chocolate-almond croissant because I wanted the best of both worlds and it will definitely fill you up! It is really heavy but so delicious and perfect with a cup of coffee which they also serve.
The bakery is small but there are a few tables inside and also outside on the sidewalk. Since Arsicault is so popular there is a limit on how many items customers can buy but that’s just all the more reason to keep returning to this wonderful bakery. Next time we go, my cousins and I will split croissants so that we don’t get too full but can enjoy every item!
