Belle Cose San Francisco

Belle Cose – New & vintage clothing & more

I don’t recall how I first discovered Belle Cose but I’m sure glad I did! Anything with an Italian name sucks me in every time. The owner, Teresa Nittolo, is of Italian heritage and opened Belle Cose and Molte Cose more than 20 years ago.

“Belle cose” means beautiful things in Italian. This part of the store has vintage and new clothing, shoes, jewelry, hats – and then some – for le donne (women). The other part of the store, named Molte Cose (which means “many things” in Italian) has vintage and new items for gli uomini (men). I’m not as familiar with the men’s side but, LOVE the many stylish options there are for women – like that cute striped top in the photo. Two of the items I’ve purchased in the past are a trio of cream-colored jewelry boxes and a shiny gray vintage purse. I use both all the time!

When I stopped in the other day, another shopper was so excited to have found a gorgeous vintage black lace dress and warm winter coat! She even called her mom from inside the Belle Cose dressing room to ask if she could buy the shoes she’d found as well.

Belle Cose is where I like to go when I want to find something (usually for myself, I admit) that is on-style, but not a part of some big trend, is unique and well-made.

Happy shopping!
