The Ferry Plaza Farmers’ Market is a place that I always recommend to people visiting town but it’s also a spot that my friends go to hang out and have delicious food. The market is known as one of the best in the country for quality and locally-sourced produce.
Every Saturday morning, stalls line the front of the Ferry Building as well as in the back of the building by the water with an unobstructed view of the Bay Bridge. Besides fresh fruits, vegetables, cheeses, and much more, there are stalls that serve breakfast, lunch, coffee, and baked goods that you can enjoy as you sit by the pier, like my friends and I did last month. I also love walking through the inside of the Ferry Building because there are permanent food vendors inside that you can visit every day of the week.
My favorite places inside are Blue Bottle Coffee for a New Orleans iced coffee, Cowgirl Creamery for a round of their famous Mt. Tam cheese, or Humphry Slocombe for a scoop of their Vietnamese coffee ice cream. There are so many more vendors to explore so I highly recommend the Ferry Plaza Farmers’ Market for as many Saturday mornings as you like!
