Fredericksen Hardware & Paint has been around since 1896. My mom remembers shopping there in the early ’60s and Fredericksen’s brings back fond memories for her. It’s truly a neighborhood stop for almost anything you might be searching for whether it’s a can of paint, tools, small appliances or more fun things like cards, candles, hand creams and bath salts.
Located in the Cow Hollow neighborhood of San Francisco, I often combine a stop at Fredericksen’s with lunch at one of the nearby charming restaurants or a coffee pick-me-up. It’s the perfect store for housewarming gifts, home repair items or a little tchotchke for myself. I could spend an hour at Fredericksens Hardware & Paint exploring each and every aisle.
Fredericksen’s is dog-friendly – which makes me love them more – and they frequently give dog treats to the locals that stop by. Need potting soil? Check. Need a power cord? Check. Need some spare keys cut? They’ll take care of that too!
