I’ve spent quite a bit of time in the lobby at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco assisting on photo shoots and it never fails to impress me. From the glass-surrounded elevators with the golden glow that climb up the interior walls, to the huge sculpture with multi-colored changing lights, I think you’ll be happy when you pay a visit and soak up its ambiance.
You don’t need to be a paying guest at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco to get a snack from the cafe, a cocktail from the bar or something more filling from the restaurant; they are all located in the main lobby area. There are lots of comfy seating areas where you can take a break from the city hustle & bustle and admire the architectural features and design details that surround you. The East end of the Hyatt Regency San Francisco lobby has a fantastic view of the waterfront and the ferry building – very instagrammable, I might add – so make sure you walk through to that side to check it out!
One thing to note: In the wee hours of the morning (I’m talking after midnight), the big sculpture does not have the alternating colored lights. So, if that’s one of the things you want to see, make sure you’re there earlier in the day – late afternoon/evening is best. Have fun!
