Lovejoys Tea Room – Tea time in Noe Valley

One of my favorite places in Noe Valley is Lovejoy’s Tea Room. Lovejoy’s is always bustling with tea parties for children’s birthdays or bridal showers and baby showers. My friends and I love to come here when we want to indulge our love of English culture and to relax with a pot of tea, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere. Lovejoy’s serves a variety of traditional tea services that come with sandwiches, salads, fruit, scones, crumpets, and biscuits. They also offer more hearty fare like sausage rolls, quiches, and shepherd’s pies. Lovejoy’s has a very long tea menu as well including black, green, and herbal teas served in individual pots for each patron.

The food and teas are delicious but what really makes the place special is the ambiance. Antique tea cups, plates, photographs, and other knick knacks line the shelved walls, the tables are covered with beautiful lace table cloths, and no tea cup or tea pot served is the same, offering customers uniquely beautiful china. It makes you feel as if you are sitting in an English countryside home right in the middle of San Francisco. Lovejoy’s Tea Room is such a nice city escape for a couple of hours. Across the street is Lovejoy’s Attic which is a shop that sells teas, spoons, cups, scone mixes, jams, creams, and other sweets and trinkets so that you can make the deliciousness last at home or find a gift for someone special.
