I have now been a resident of the city for 4.5 years and I confess to still enjoy mingling amongst the throngs of people in the tourist hot spots. One such place is walking along the Embarcadero. This is sometimes my jogging path, but just as often I find myself enjoying the superb views and the enticing nook & crannies along the stretch between Fisherman’s Wharf and the Bay Bridge.
I encourage you to explore the various stops along the way. There are some great restaurants and shops and besides you never know what you’ll discover should you take a closer look.
Just the other day I was out for a walk when I decided to venture down Pier 7 for the very first time. I have probably wandered past this spot a couple hundred times, but for some reason I have never spent a few measly minutes to learn what this Pier has to offer.
I can now tell you that it has some of the most spectacular views in the entire city. I encourage you to walk down the wooden pier, take a look around, relax on one of the many benches and soak in sensational views of the bay and the unforgettable views of the city.
For me, Pier 7 is a reminder to slow down, look around and take a few minutes to explore the world around me.
