Presidio Social Club converted a 1903 military barracks into the restaurant it is today. Although they modernized it, I always feel a sense of history and an “old San Francisco” vibe when I walk through the front door. In Presidio National Park, Presidio Social Club is surrounded by Eucalyptus trees and other historic buildings. This area is a great spot to go for a walk with my dog.
My favorite time to eat at Presidio Social Club is brunch on the weekend. They have a wonderful outside back deck which is dog-friendly and always lively, at least if it’s not raining. The wait staff is always very attentive about providing water for the dogs on the deck.
When I’m in the mood for a cocktail (which Presidio Social Club does really well!), I usually get an Aperol Spritz or a Mimosa. If I want to eat healthy, my favorite dish to order is the Kale Salad with yummy, fried (I know!), garbanzo beans. If I’m feeling naughty, I get the Brioche Beignets; they come with…wait for it…brown sugar hot chocolate!
Presidio Social Club’s tagline is “All the comforts of a club without the dues” and to me, that really does ring true.
