I happened to stumble upon this gem in Bernal Heights while I was walking along Corlandt St., the main drag of Bernal Heights. Inside, I found a warm, cozy, intimate wine bar with a staff that was passionate about both the food and wine it serves.
VinoRosso may have a small footprint, but its food and wine menu are surprisingly extensive.
The bar serves Italian wines, and the staff knows them well. The prices per bottle are also extremely reasonable. What I loved was that the menu was unusual with some mains that reminded me of comfort food, like lasagna and meatballs. You won’t find the usual selection of pasta dishes, but they have some great salads, sausages, gnocchi, cheeses and salumi. I had the eggplant parmesan, one of my favorites, and it didn’t disappoint.
It only took me a week to go back.
