Whenever I pass by Forino in the main Titova street during the summer, I can’t control myself and I have to take one or two scoops of ice cream no matter what. That is the only time I wish they had an outside terrace with shade where one could take big portion and savour it.
Forino is actually ”buregdzinica”, a place for great pies and burek (pie with meat) and it’ s a cool spot to have a snack during the colder months. Its unusual interior colors – all green – are a bit futuristic for this kind of place, but that’s why it’s also easily noticeable.
But the most amazing thing they have is the ice cream. There are some fancier places in Sarajevo that offer watery ice cream without taste and you wouldn’t expect that ”buregdzinica” would have such a beautifully homemade treats. My favorite is the Don Vito flavor, which is a mix of vanilla and banana with rich chocolate on top. For pure chocolate fans, there is also dark chocolate which is super. All flavors are rich in taste and creamy and sometimes I don’t get 10 meters away and my portion is already gone. Also, the ladies selling it are super kind and generous with scoops, lovely.
I simply love it and I think it’s the best kept secret in Sarajevo center. Well, now not so much a secret, but I think Forino can survive the surge of happy guests looking for a great gelato.
