Nijaz Duraković Park Sarajevo
The perfect place to relax

Formerly known as Hastahana, this park is the perfect place for people of all ages to relax. Someone is there any time of day and people love to engage in conversation, regardless of whether they know you or not. Parents take their kids there to play, young people learn to skate and have fun and the older generation loves to take short walks there.
Other than being a playground, it also had a beautiful art installation called "Star Trek" that was donated by a German artist named Helmut Lutz. Unfortunately, they were removed in 2020, but we're patiently waiting for them to bring it back :).
Locals love this park and the best indicator of that is they started protests in 2019 after the local council of Centar wanted to turn it into underground garages and a parking lot. It holds such significance it made people get together for a common cause.
If you ever visit Sarajevo during summer, be sure to do so while Summer in Hastahana Park is being held. You'll definitely enjoy it if you love great music!
