When I first moved to Seattle, I went crazy for Asian and seafood. Coming from middle America, it was heaven on earth being surrounded by such extensive options. Once I scratched what felt like a never-ending itch, I dedicated myself to finding the best Mexican food in the city.
After eating my way through the main spots in my neighborhood, I never had a moment where I labeled a place as one I had to keep coming back to. Since the journey for the best tacos in a city isn’t something I take lightly, I continued to expand my radius until I finally ended up in the neighborhood of Beacon Hill at a place called Carnitas Michoacan. These are the type of tacos you text friends that don’t even live in your city about.
On the outside there isn’t much to it, but the moment you walk in, you see the faces of people that you know keep on coming back. They don’t have a website, so don’t bother trying to track down a menu before you arrive. Hand-made tortillas are being made just behind the counter and you’ll already be eyeing up the salsa buffet before you place your order. The best part is, after they win you over with their home cooked food, you can walk across the restaurant to their deli to grab some Chorizo links to try reproducing the flavors yourself.
We all know what Mexican tastes like. Just trust me on this one.
