I happened upon this park, getting lost on a bike ride one day. It has now become my preferred riding route. Getting to the park you climb up a hill from the Lake Washington Blvd. and the Arboretum, another wonderful park, crossing a quaint single lane bridge before you enter the park.

Interlaken Park winds its way around the hillside on a decommissioned road. Devoid of cars it’s a great place to walk or run and bike. When I need a quick breather from the city and busy traffic, I take a spin over to enjoy the woodsy overgrown flora which occasionally opens up to vistas of the University of Washington Campus across the Montlake Cut. Short nature trails also connect the neighborhoods on each side of the park. Although the road is only a couple of miles long, time always seems to slow down and I’m always much more relaxed by the time I emerge from this green park.A great place to see the remaining fall colors.
