A kaffeeklatsch is a German term for a gathering with coffee, and that’s just what happens at this cute little cafe in northeast Seattle’s Lake City neighborhood. You’ll find art on the walls and bakers on site, whipping up great pastries, pretzels and more.
They produce seasonal items, and traditional German pastries are their specialty. Try a Käsekuchen, Apfeltasche, or even a Zitronen-Mohnkuchen!
Kaffeeklatsch takes family-friendly seriously, with an impressive play area where kids can play with a wide variety of entertaining toys, allowing adults a bit more time to catch up. The play kitchen has a view of their actual kitchen, giving wide-eyed tots a view of the real action as their bakers roll out the dough.
It’s great to be able to talk to the bakers, who are usually secreted away in a back room at other bakeries, and fantastic to get hot tips about what’s good right now, even suggestions on what to try making at home.
Easy to find with their unique bike-parking made of bikes, there is both outdoor and indoor seating. Step inside to warm up and take in all the smells of coffee and baking. There’s a lot to enjoy and take in!
