There aren’t that many places like The Vera Project in existence anymore, so it’s great to see the city of Seattle rally around this one. This all-ages and volunteer-run music and arts venue helps showcase some of the most creative up-and-comers in the city. There are weekly concerts and classes ranging from silkscreen printing to audio engineering.
The building is in a prime location just next door to the Space Needle and focuses on young people from 14 to 24 years old. People of all ages are welcome to their events, but the Vera Project serves as a creative sanctuary compared to the 21+ events that often take place at other spots around the city.
Scope out their calendar to see what’s coming up on the horizon and get a pulse on what’s happening in Seattle’s creative community. This could include anything from out of town acts trying to get a Seattle following to local artists showcasing their most recent projects. If you’re around long enough, sign up for one of their DJ classes!
