Brunch is always a good thing. Brunch served in a former house is an even better thing. One of brunch’s biggest dilemmas is choosing between savory and sweet. Tilth makes that dilemma extra difficult, as everything on the menu will be calling your name. Solve that dilemma by ordering both savory and sweet dishes! I do that- even if it means my server is going to do a double-take at my 5’2″ frame and the two and a half courses I just ordered.
It’s hard for me to recommend just one dish but I do love the short rib hash. It comes with the best potatoes ever that will fulfill everything you’re looking for in the savory category. As for sweet options, you can’t go wrong. Tilth has one of the city’s best yogurt dishes and it makes a great dish to share. I had it with lemon zest and pluot. The french toast here is decadent and fluffy and the fruit plate is anything but ordinary. It changes based on season and I most recently enjoyed pomegranate, figs, apples, and pistachios, among other things.
Almost everything here is certified organic, but the prices are reasonable and the food is amazing. They make ordinary things like eggs and potatoes taste phenomenal.
I may not make it to brunch as often as I’d like to, but Tilth is my number one choice.
