When I asked the bartender why he’s only ever had two beers on tap, he told me because the regulars started to complain too much when he switched to others. This cozy English-style pub is tucked away near Pikes Place Market and it’s so low key that many locals have never even heard of it. For a place surrounded by the tourist spots of Seattle, it shocks me that this place remains it’s own little sanctuary away from the crowds.
The walls are littered with tributes to England and the ceiling is full of hanging plants that with the lack of natural light, you wonder how they survive. There are just a few bar spots if you want to get tales of Seattle from the owner who just so happens to be the regular bartender. If the bar is full of regulars, there are plenty of old leather couches to fall into that perfectly compliment the intimate vibe.
This place provides the ideal ambiance that with the right group of people will have you constantly saying “let’s have one more.”
