One of the main things I like about Skopje are the places that offer the comfort of a relaxing atmosphere with great drinks and snacks such as Piazza Liberta.
I had the pleasure of going to the high school across the street from this bar but it wasn’t until college that I decided to visit it for the first time and discover the genial concept of beer in big pints and the extra free peanuts in the shell, which, get this, you can eat and then throw the shells on the ground – don’t worry the staff actually encourages it. For years and years I kept on coming here to catch up with friends, drink ice cold beer and drown myself in layers of peanuts. That is, until they introduced snacks and other types of food.
Then I started coming for the nacho chips, and beer, again, and finally I got totally hooked on the latest additions to the menu: the sandwiches, toast, waffles and crepes (sweet and salty). As of late, the menu has a lot more to offer and I simply love the Sweet Breakfast for two! My all time favorite thing here is the chocolate, cream and banana waffle!
I cannot stress enough how much I love coffee and having a high-quality brand such as Illy, combined with Dutch apple pie does it for me! The now have coffee to go, too! Piazza Liberta is truly a spot you don’t want to miss while visiting Skopje. Enjoy!
