Stockholm is filled with small vintage and second-hand shops, but they are spread out throughout the city and might be a little tricky to find. One of these well kept secret places is Dunke Design, a furniture shop which describes itself as Stockholm’s smallest furniture shop. Sure, the showroom is quite tiny but boy the design items in here are great!
Dunke Design is founded and run by Sara and Jörgen, a couple passionate about craftsmanship and creative furniture solutions. The concept of the store is to sell modern industrial furniture and selected vintage goods for both home, office and commercial spaces. How about a dinner table that doubles as a ping-pong table? I recently bought a wonderful table lamp which was made out of an old 20th century champagne bottle. If you can dream it, you can probably find it here. They also hold wonderful art deco porcelain figurines as well as traditional Swedish china from Kosta Boda and Rörstrand. This is a great place for the vintage collector to swing by.
The opening hours are limited, so check their website when you can visit. If you find a wonderful piece you want to bring home but won’t fit in you bag? No problem. Almost all the furniture is available in their online shop.
