Tampere Market Hall is the place where I got my first ever job and that is why it has a special meaning for me.
Tampere Market Hall has been serving customers since 1901 and it is the largest indoor market in the Nordic countries. It is a vibrant market, especially during lunch hours and weekends. There are many interesting vendors who are enthusiastically selling their own products which are mostly local and are always good quality. There are shops of all kinds from bakeries to flower shops and from restaurants to a shoe shop. My favorites are Ohana Grille restaurant (their burgers are just to die for!) and Café Aniitta with its morning porridge. The feeling in the Market Hall is always warm and welcoming.
If you are into guided tours, you can join one in the Market Hall. The guided tours are available in Finnish, English and German. On the first Friday of each month, the Market Hall has a special late-night event and live music. Bookmark this one!
Before leaving, take a look at the Market Hall building outside, isn’t it beautiful?
