There are many spots to have takeaway food or a picnic in Tampere just in the city centre. But just a stone's throw from the centre there is a "hidden" spot for a perfect picnic. It is not hidden, but usually there are just a few people enjoying the view or the sun.
Where is that place? It is in Lapinniemi. You can access it by bus (the walk from the bus station is about 500 metres) or by bike or you can walk there. It is only about two kilometres from the city centre.
In Lapinniemi there is a beautiful harbour next to the famous Lapinniemi spa. Walk until you meet the water - pass this red spa building and there it is! Nice park, where you can sit down and enjoy the view.
As you already know I guess, there are two big lakes in Tampere, Näsijärvi lake and Pyhäjärvi lake. Näsijävi lake is next to Lapinniemi. You can enjoy the sun, go for a walk, see boats going around the lake and on the other side of the lake there is the famous amusement park called Särkänniemi. It is really nice to sit there, have some lunch and see all the rides!
