At the North end of Hämeenpuisto, up on the hill and under the shelter of the trees, I find Tampere’s best playground (though not for the smallest of the family), Tiitiäinen’s fairytale park. The park is based on the poems of Kirsi Kunnas and there are many familiar characters in the park. This is the playground where you can combine art and activity, kids and adults can spread their imagination!
In addition to the basic slides, swings and fine climbing rack, the park has trampolines embedded on the ground that allow you to bounce all year round. And who said adults shouldn’t play? In fact, I often the park during my jog to go down the slides and, of course, bounce around on the trampolines.
The park also has wonderful views of the Särkäniemi theme park and the lake. At dusk, an even more fabulous atmosphere spreads into the park, when the park’s special lighting is turned on.
