Amirani Cinema is my go-to place for movies, not only because it’s at the center of the city and I can reach it easily with any bus or minivan, but also because it’s one of the only movie theatres in Tbilisi that offers movies in English and not in Georgian or Russian. Due to its relatively small halls and few English moviegoers, Amirani theatre doesn’t always offer two or three English movies simultaneously. I’ve watched many movies here, including Star Wars: The Last Jedi in English and in 3D.
An interesting fact about movies in Georgia is that most movies open one or two days earlier in Tbilisi than they premier in the US, which always gives you a great opportunity to go on Twitter and spoil the movie to the whole world wide web. Amirani Theatre doesn’t offer reclining seats or IMAX screening. However, Amirani is my default theater due to their cheap tickets and their location.
There’s also 5 GEL Wednesday tickets, so take advantage!
