Pagoda House Tel Aviv

Asian beauty in the city center

""Pagoda House" is just one of in Tel Aviv's Bauhaus buildings that have earned it the title White City. I like coming here to escape and relax..."

Sometimes, when Rothschild Blvrd is overcrowded and I'm looking for a quiet place to relax I choose to escape to these magical peaceful streets surrounding the boulevard, especially to the east of it. If you're looking for an interesting historical junction in this area, you should visit King Albert sq., a tiny (2 trees and 2 benches only) square named after Albert I of Belgium after his visit in 1933.

As you arrive at the square you will see the yellow, beautifully renovated Pagoda House. The building was designed and inspired by the East-Asian pagoda that was built in 1924. Over the years the building served various purposes (doctors worked there in the 40s and even a synagogue was housed on the ground level in those days). In 1995, after years of neglect the building's renovation started. You can enjoy the view of this building in the cute Ben Ami bakery.

Around the square you can find more Bauhaus buildings - combined with another 4,000 buildings in Tel Aviv, they've given the title "White City" by UNESCO.
