Today I can’t recall under which circumstances I discovered this spot, but I can assure you this is a genuine hidden gem of Tel Aviv. Probably only hundreds or even dozens of locals are aware of the 360 panoramic outlook from the roof of Gruzenberg parking. Unfortunately you can’t find many roof tops with free access in the city to enjoy the heterogenic cityscape of Tel Aviv.
Nevertheless, the official address of the parking is on Gruzenberg street, enter the multi-storey car park through the door under building number plate “26” on Nahalat Benyamin street. Call the elevator, go up to the top floor and after you exit just open any door to go outside to the roof. Please keep in mind that from Friday evening till Saturday evening, the elevator operates in Shabbat mode – mandatory stops on each floor all the way up and down. You can always use the stairway. Now you can enjoy the view of Tel Aviv.
By the way it is the perfect spot for plane watching since the landing route goes right above the city. I suggest you come here at least twice – during daylight and after dark.
Cafe Birenbaum is just 5 meters across the street, so of you feel like hungry after spotting TLV from above – don’t look any further!
