Haj Kahil – An after the beach kind of thing

I am not your regular foodie. I love to eat, yes. I love to have my food taste good, yes. But sometimes it’s all about the timing. It’s like drinking a really cheap wine, but with great people: all of a sudden it turns into one of the best bottles you’ve opened. Haj Kahil, is that kind of place, that you get to in the right moment, with the right people, it turns into one of the best places to eat in Tel Aviv.

Conveniently located just behind my favorite beach in Jaffa, on the Clock Tower Roundabout, it’s the first place I want to visit after a few hours at the beach. After the sun, sand and salty water, all I really want is to make a huge bite into a pita with schwarma and everything that is good in the world – Tahini, pickles and some local spicy sauce.

I know, that wasn’t a proper “festive” Friday night dinner, but it is a treat for the weekend. I especially liked my smile after storming through the whole thing!
