Jaffa Port – Chill, walk or run

Last year I got into the running world, thinking it’s a cheap form of exercise. I thought it would just be a matter of time before I stopped suffering like hell and started enjoying the activity. I used to live in Jaffe at that time, and always found myself doing the same route: from Jerusalem Blvd. down through Yehuda HaYamit st. to the hangers of the old Jaffa port and to the boardwalk.

Jaffa port is one of my favorite spots to run through, trying to avoid running into people of all types and origins; letting the beautiful views of the ships docking and reflecting in the water rush behind me; smelling the fried goods that just came out with the fisherman…

I realized I do love the place, but not so much running there. So I stopped running and started just chilling there. It’s a beautiful walk and has many places to take a stop for drinks, food or just to watch the sunset. My favorite is at the most southern spot almost at the boardwalk, called Vista. And if you are lucky, every Friday noon during summertime there are some free concerts of amazing Israeli bands.
