Oban Koban is fast becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Tel Aviv. This is an excellent restaurant and if you love Japanese/Asian food, good service and a fun atmosphere, then Oban Koban is the place for you.
However, that is not what makes Oban Koban one of my favorite places to go, what makes it special is that they cater to carnivores, vegans and vegetarians alike while keeping high standards and producing wonderful food that makes everyone happy. And let me tell you that is a hard trick to pull off!
They have a regular menu and a vegan menu, and on some days you can get a vegan bowl of ramen (which is off the menu entirely but my vegan friends adore). The regular ramen is amazing by the way.
I have tried many things there; the curries are wonderful, the starter salads are special and crisp but my absolute favorite dish is The Agedashi Dofu, which to my surprise is vegan. I am not a fan of vegan food but this soup/entrée is heavenly and I recommend it to all.
So for a fun atmosphere and a great meal no matter your food preference go and enjoy.
