The newest trend in Tel Aviv, and Israel altogether, is the “Escape Room”. A room where you and a bunch of your friends are locked up in a place with a special theme and have 60 minutes to escape by using clues and solving all kinds of riddles.
I visited “Questomania”- the biggest Tel Aviv Escape Room – with a few friends and we were all experiencing a huge adrenaline rush by the time we left. “Questomania” offers 4 different themed rooms, from a zombie attack to an escape from a Soviet police station. It’s awesome!
I tried asking questions about the other rooms but the staff at “Questomania” could only tell me about special incidents that took place there. They told me of bachelorette parties that are taking place in their escape rooms, with intoxicated women rushing out screaming or laughing hysterically. Or that time where a young woman used to come in every week with a different guy to test how he would treat her under pressure. They even told me about corporate groups or the office of the Prime Minister (fancy name for Mossad personnel) who’d come in with their supervisors to check and monitor their behavior and decision making.
I never believed that such a thing could be so much fun!
