I love walking into a second hand shop where you never know what you might find.
Tel Aviv has a nice selection of second hand and vintage shops scattered around the city. Shapirit is relatively new and offers a range of fashion, shoes and accessories from the ’70s and ’80s to contemporary items. There’s also a nice range of styles, and as you might expect from a shop like this, lots of cool surprises.
The shop is located at the edge of Shapira neighbourhood in southeast Tel Aviv.
When you enter the shop, you’re immediately surrounded by racks of assorted garments, some very cool bags, unusual shoes and colourful jewellery, all in a small but welcoming space.
The owner is an avid fan of second hand and vintage stuff. I had a chat with her to ask her about the shop, and she said she’d opened it out of love for second-hand styles, as well as for social and environmental reasons. The items are inexpensive and the environmental benefits of buying second-hand go without saying.
