A friend of mine brought me to Silon after a loooong Friday stroll around the city. She said it was her neighborhood bar and they had happy hour at that moment. I don’t know what I love more – neighborhood bars or happy hours! There’s no way I can resist happy hour in neighborhood bars!
Happy hour offers you 50% off the alcohol menu, which is way better than 1+1. More than this, happy hour occurs on Friday and Saturday night as well when most off the pubs and bars charge full price.
Silon is a very pleasant bar for a drink with outdoor seats (perfect for people watching) and an indoor area as well. The music is not loud, mostly rock, jazz and oldies, bartenders and waiters are in charge of the playlist and they do pretty good job.
Only a few bars in Tel Aviv offer Leffe beer (from Belgium) and Shapira (non-filtered beer from a Jerusalem Brewery) on tap and Silon is one of them. If you love Pale Ale – go for Shapira, you’ll thank me later. Ask for complimentary olives – they are delicious and perfect with beer. But the biggest surprise for me was waiting on the cocktail menu. Bloody Mary based on gin instead of vodka (ta-dam!), served with a celery stalk as a stirrer. It’s fantastic! You definitely should check this out.
Happy hour – Sunday till Thursday 17:00-20:00. Friday – 18:00-21:00, Saturday 18:00-20:00.
