The dog’s beach is a small strip of beach dedicated to dogs, their owners and dog lovers.
Located between the Gay beach and the segregated beach (where men and women go to swim on alternate days). I know it sounds like the beginning of a bad joke. Only in Tel aviv!
The Dog beach has a special magic all on its own. It’s a happy & energized place where you get to see some dogs living the high life most hours of the day. I always stop to people watch whenever I’m around, it’s a lot of fun. It’s also a great way to engage with the locals if you’re interested.
The dog’s beach is a leash free zone, so the dogs get to run around/go into the water/ spread the love around and give innocent beach goers love, attention and some sand thrown in their direction. Be warned, murphy’s law says the sand will always find its way to you & your beach towel!
But not to fret if you don’t want to get messy it’s cool, there are great spots for watching the dogs from the promenade.
I don’t know why happy playing dogs on the beach are so mesmerizing, but they are.
So, if you’re in the area or if you want something more interactive for your beach experience do go there. It’s a great way to pass an afternoon, meet the locals and get a little sand thrown around.
In my opinion one of the happiest beaches around!
