VooDoo bar is located in one of the most crowded areas in Tel Aviv, right across from Dizingoff center. This place used to be a laid-back bar and was redecorated to a colorful, crazy young design. Their slogan is “wild/rewild/wilder”, and it’s totally justified: It’s impossible to miss the huge voodoo sculptures on the roof and on the outdoor and indoor bars. At night they turn their colorful lights on, which makes it all even more impressive.
The place has two floors: the upper floor is a cocktail bar with a small-dishes menu to go with the drinks. They have “fancy” dishes like beet salad and carpaccio, and also simple dishes like burger and fries. They also have a happy hour deal: between 19:00 – 21:00 all cocktails are 1+1 free. The lower floor is more like a lounge. It has a large dance floor and different DJs play there every night, mostly house and techno music. So you can go there when you’re in the mood for dancing, for a relaxing cocktails night, or for a combination of the two.
Secret tip: late at night, when it looks like it’s empty on the outside, visit the lounge. You’d be surprised how packed and alive it is compared to upstairs.
