Jorinde van der Burgh (1979)

About me
During business hours I am a regulatory affairs professional. Out of the office, I enjoy things such as writing, cooking and lying on the beach. I am a great flamenco fan. Since 2002, I have been following weekly flamenco dance classes and since 2014 I also write for Dutch flamenco magazine Mundo Flamenco.

In 2018 I took up kyokushin karate. Both flamenco dancing and karate include elegant, explosive movements. That I like a lot. I grew up on the Wadden island Texel, studied to become a Dutch language teacher in Nijmegen, dropped out of school, lived in Alkmaar for a while and finally, in 2009, I moved to The Hague.

Why The Hague
My father’s family comes from The Hague, so in a way this city and its people has always been part of my life. As a child, I visited my family here together with my mum and dad. As a teenager, I combined a visit to my granddad with a satisfying afternoon of shopping in the city center. Now that I live here myself, I absolutely adore The Hague for being a lively city with lots of theaters, shops, museums and restaurants, as well as a cozy seaside resort. The almost tangible presence of centuries of political history within this city is also very special.
