Now this is really a spot for people with children. Cantaloupenburg is a great little hidden gem in the city. It’s a courtyard with almshouses around it, only here there are only houses on one side and the courtyard is a playground. The houses are well separated from the playground so you’re not disturbing anyone.

There’s a sort of club house at the front which gets rented out sometimes and in summer there’s a small paddle pool. There are swings, a slide, monkey bards, trampolines, a football court and more.

The best part? There’s only one exit, so you don’t need to constantly check where your kid is, if yours are anything like ours in the way that they love exploring and happily go out on their own.

Grab a coffee on the way at The Barista Café so you can take a seat and let your kids run wild.
