Eloise and Pauline are joint owners of Cross & Woods Crafting Parlour and together they have created a unique space in The Hague. The shop space is huge, you’ll probably be drawn to the wall of wool first (fantastic colours!) and then you’ll spot the beautiful fabrics and hey look there’s a corner lined with books and magazines and so on. An hour later, you’ll suddenly find yourself at the till with four skeins of hand dyed ethical alpaca wool, because… like, you just really need to have them.
Cross & Woods specialise in wool which is not surprising considering the previous shop ‘Woool’ was also run by Pauline, who has years of experience and skill in wool retail. The emphasis is on natural products (Merchant & Mills, Kokon, Hey Mama Wolf and more) and creating a place for the community of knitters and makers. The shop has a loyal fan base in the Hague but also further away as online orders are shipped off to Australia and Singapore.
See those long tables in the shop? You’re welcome to sit and work on a project but you can also join one of the monthly Craft Nights which have become hugely popular and are next level Stitch ‘n Bitch. Check FB to find out when the next craft night is and get down there with your latest project. Take your granny too, she’ll love it.
Opening times can vary during public holidays, check the website or FB/Insta for actual opening times.
