I can’t actually remember when I first visited Korzo theater, located in The Hague city center. Meanwhile, I know exactly why I keep coming back. Korzo is known as one of the most adventurous production houses for contemporary dance in The Netherlands. At the same time, the atmosphere within this venue is laid back and welcoming. Attending a performance at Korzo moves you out of your comfort zone while you still feel at home.
Korzo has a lot to offer, my personal favorites are: the Monday Movement Classes, Festival CaDance and the Indian Dance Festival. During the Monday Movement classes you can enjoy working out with one of the Korzo choreographers, regardless of your age or the dance experience you might- or might not have. These dance classes are open for everybody! Festival CaDance takes place every two years in January and is one of the highlights of contemporary dance within The Hague. During CaDance you watch the latest creations from upcoming- as well as established dance makers. Every year at the end of October Korzo organizes the Indian Dance festival. At this festival you see classical- and modern Indian dance. During the edition of 2016, I discovered that North-Indian kathak has a lot in common with my greatest dance love flamenco: the singing, the rhythms, the footwork…
But enough about me… Go, check the Korzo agenda and see all this and more for yourself.
