If you decide to explore the Statenkwartier beyond the main street Frederik Hendriklaan you will come across a couple of gems. This is one of them. Little You is a welcome addition to the neighbourhood as it is more than ‘just’ another toy store and definitely more than ‘just’ another cafe. There are ample cafes on ‘the Fred’ but this place is different. Owner Julia always had a dream to open a cafe and two years ago that dream came true. With her background in marketing and advertising and her own parenting experience she has created an oasis for anyone, but especially so for parents of babies or toddlers who might need a TLC. This was my go-to when our son was younger. I could wake up slowly with a coffee in my hand and he was content playing in the spacious kids’ area with the train set or making friends.

For me now it’s somewhere to simply enjoy coffee and maybe home-baked goods (depending on what Julia has baked up for us). The shop and cafe/kids area are pretty much equally split and its extremely difficult not to browse the goodies while your little one is playing. Julia has an eye for stylish and fun items, often Scandi style, whether that’s clothing, accessories or kids’ toys. If you’re looking for a special gift for a newborn or with Christmas around the corner, you should go have a look… it’s highly likely you’ll find something here.
