Divided into two parts by the Javastraat; That is The Hague’s dainty street ‘Mallemolen’. On one side it’s a small hub with cute cafes and classic “bruine kroegen”, as we call them in the Netherlands. On the other part, across the street, you find some great properties that will make anyone envious.

I did not know about the existence of Mallemolen until only a couple of years ago. Maybe that has to do something with the fact that I’m not originally from The Hague. However, I highly doubt that even all people born and raised in The Hague know this quaint street. It’s situated in, in my opinion, one of The Hague’s prettiest neighbourhoods called Willemspark.

On either side, cars are not really allowed, or only for loading and unloading. This makes it a superb street to quickly pop into by foot to admire the houses or have a beer at one of the little cafes. I highly advise to add the Mallemolen to your list, for example if you decide to take a stroll through The Hague. It’s one of those places you often pass by, but totally worth spending a bit more time at.
