Museum Voorlinden, a museum for modern and contemporary art, is relatively new, founded in 2016 and is privately owned. It has a great selection of art, some beautiful, some a bit far-fetched and some just lots of fun. But that’s just my opinion, and isn’t the beauty of art in the eye of the beholder… It’s a little bit out of the way from The Hague centre and you’ll need to either drive or cycle there, but it’s worth the effort.
The restaurant is situated in a lovely monumental English style country house next to the museum. Have a cup of coffee with a sandwich (or a piece of apple pie) and enjoy the serenity of the area, as the museum and restaurant are surrounded by forests, dunes, meadows, water and landscaped gardens.
It’s really inviting for lovely walks around it. You can even walk all the way to Meyendel if you like.
